The Yakima School District is proud to announce the hiring of Stephanie A. Casillas as assistant principal of McClure Elementary School beginning July 1, 2020.

This upcoming school year marks Stephanie’s 16th year in education and it is with great pleasure that she is returning to the Yakima School District. Her career started in the Sunnyside School District as a Kindergarten teacher and after teaching there for two years she had the pleasure of coming to the Yakima School District where she was born and raised. She taught various grade levels throughout the school district, served as an instructional facilitator and as an assessment specialist. Stephanie and her family then moved to Longview, Washington where she served as an elementary principal for the past seven years.

Stephanie has received her Bachelor’s in Teaching Degree from Heritage College, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Western Governors.

She and her husband, who is also in education, have two amazing children who are both in college and spent their elementary and middle school years in Yakima. They are all extremely excited to return to Yakima where they can spend more time with family, contribute to our community and the students in the Yakima School District.
