Washington State is one of the few states that place public art in public schools. The State Art Collection includes nearly 5,000 artworks, located where people study, work and live. The public selects and owns the Collection. Artworks are found in state agencies, public schools, universities, and community colleges. The Art In Public Places Program creates an opportunity for school districts to acquire significant, site-responsive artwork for their schools.
