Ridgeview Collaborates with Community Faith Partner

Ridgeview and their community faith partner, Wesley United Methodist Church, recently collaborated on two projects.  Wesley UMC donated hundreds of child-sized masks to Ridgeview.  Ridgeview staff, including assistant principal Mrs. Hovsepian (pictured below), distributed the masks to YSD families.  Hundreds of children in Yakima have new masks thanks to this collaboration.

The second project involved the creation of a “Little Free Pantry”.  These pantries are similar to the Little Free Libraries found in neighborhoods across the country.  However, instead of sharing books the Little Free Pantry shares non-perishable foods.  People in need can visit the pantry and take food.  Working with Wesley UMC member Amy Halvorson Miller, Mr. Mitchell built and helped install a Little Free Pantry at Wesley.  Mrs. Hovsepian is also coordinating the collection of non-perishable foods at Ridgeview which will be donated to the Little Free Pantry.

Thank you Wesley United Methodist Church for your connection to our community and Ridgeview!
