Barge-Lincoln is getting a playground facelift this month. With the support of Superintendent Trevor Greene, Asst. Superintendent Rob Darling and maintenance Assistant Direction Jay Baucom a Healthy Kids-Healthy Schools grant was submitted and approved by OSPI ealier this year in the tune of $146,000. Two playground will be constructed by the end of June. One playground will support Transitional Kinder, Pre-K, Kinder and First graders while the other playground will support second through fifth grade students. The Barge-Lincoln PTO, Champion’s Centre and B-L staff initially planned a community build scheduled for late May but due to COVID-19 school closure this did not occur. Landscape Structures will send their own team of engineers to construct both playgrounds. Groundbreaking began Tuesday, June 2 by YSD maintenance and installation begins Monday, June 8. Thank you to the YSD Maintenance Department, District Admin and community partners for your support. We know our students deserve a new playground and will be thrilled to see it when they return to school in the fall.
