In the spring of 2018, Scholastic Book Clubs partnered with author James Patterson to award 4,000 teachers across the United States $500 to help build their classroom library. Teachers were asked to write a short paragraph describing how scholastic books make an impact on their students. I teach developmental preschool and I shared that scholastic books help my students explore new textures with their sensory board books and also help facilitate and increase their communication skills during shared readings. When I returned to school this Fall, I was ecstatic to see a letter from the Patterson Partnership stating that I had been chosen as one of the winners!!! I am so excited to be able to provide my students with a more extensive learning library!!
