Annual Turkey Trot Held Virtually

Turkey Trot Grand Prize Winners

On November 23rd, McKinley Elementary held their annual Turkey Trot drawing.  Students and families entered into the drawing for 1 of 24 turkey dinners with all the trimmings by getting out of the house and walking around their neighborhood.  McKinley’s annual Turkey Trot is coordinated by PE teacher Bob Oliphant, to promote health and fitness.  Even though this year’s trot looked a bit different there were still 215 students who participated with their families for a chance to win.  This year a grand prize was added, which was a remote control monster truck along with the turkey dinner for some additional family fun. Thank you to Ms. Lupe, Miss Yakare, and Mrs. Mercado for all of your hard work getting the baskets ready.   Thank you to OIC, Trinity Family Fellowship, and St. Paul’s Cathedral for donating the turkeys and food for our baskets.  Thank you to Superintendent Greene for joining in the fun to help announce the drawing winners.  Congratulations to the 24 families who won a turkey dinner this year!
