250 Acres In Zillah Will Soon Be Ready For Commercial & Tourism Development

Roughly 250 acres in Zillah will soon be open to development. In July, the Supporting Investments in Economic Development (SIED) Board approved a $1,000,000 (50% grant/50% loan) funding application that will support construction of the Vintage Valley Parkway extension from its current terminus to state route 22.

After the SIED Board meeting, several Board Members toured area projects that were supported by previous SIED funding, including the SOZO Sports Complex and Borton Fruit’s new facility off Ahtanum.

Eddie Miles, President of the SOZO Board led the SOZO tour showing the progress at the complex and touted its growing popularity as a sporting destination throughout the State.

Eric Borton (pictured above with Yakima County Commissioner Norm Childress) with Borton Fruit took members on an in depth tour of their new fruit packing facility and cold storage warehouse, highlighting their implementation of new technologies and robotics.
